Attention Cherry Hill residents and stakeholders. Environmental concerns at the Patapsco Elementary School site present a severe barrier to redevelopment. The site Assessment revealed the presence of contaminated soil, lead-based paint, and asbestos.
We are seeking grant funds for all remediation efforts, including creating a remediation plan, remediation activities at the site, the setup of an Advisory Committee for selecting qualified third-party professionals, and a comprehensive community engagement process to ensure that all contaminants are appropriately managed.
Investing in the cleanup of this historic education site will unlock its potential for a future mixed-use development, including a mixed-income apartment community and an adult learning center.
