Building Partnerships: Engaging with Communities to Reduce Gun Violence Through a Public Health Lens RFA (Deadline: April 30th)
The Maryland Department of Health will award $200,000 to an organization to lead a statewide community engagement campaign around gun violence, including planning and executing a day-long summit, to inform the state’s gun violence prevention strategic plan development. Community Schools Rental Assistance Program (Deadline: May 1st - Apply Here)
Applications are open for the Community Schools Rental Assistance Program, which is administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DCHD). The new program, established during the 2024 Legislative Session and administered by the Department’s Division of Homeless Solutions, provides emergency rental assistance to eligible student households enrolled in Maryland community schools who are experiencing housing instability and homelessness. The NOFO provides points for proposals aligned with ENOUGH.
Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) - US Department of Transportation (Deadline: June 26th; NOFO)
USDOT issued its Fiscal Year 2025 notice for the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, which provides funding for planning and implementation activities that seek to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries with local, regional, and Tribal partners. Maryland communities have won nearly $100 million from this program to-date. Under the program, proposed activities must ensure investment in safety in underserved communities, which is now defined by USDOT utilizing Areas of Persistent Poverty and may be verified on USDOT's grant location tool. Many eligible communities overlap with ENOUGH grantee communities. To learn more about the program, please read through the NOFO. Urban Trees Program (Deadline: July 15th)
The MDOT Urban Tree Grant Program is accepting applications for tree planting projects in urban communities impacted by transportation projects. Funding up to $5,000 is available per planting project with additional funds available for pocket forest efforts. Details and the online application can be found here. The deadline is 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. ENOUGH communities will receive priority.
